Main research activities are concentrated between 30ºS and 33ºS at the Andean Orogenic front of Argentina and in the Sierras Pampeanas.
At the Andean front, main target areas are the Sierra de Las Peñas-Las Higueras (Southern Precordillera of Mendoza province) and the Eastern Precordillera in San Juan province. Slope unstability phenomena are also under study at the Frontal Cordillera.
Quaternary deformation and associated phenomena, such as landslides and rock avalanches of the San Luis, Córdoba and La Rioja ranges are the main focus at the Southern Sierras Pampeanas.
